Gary Schlesinger begins his third year as a member of the Lake County Illinois Bar Association Board Of Directors.
Gary Schlesinger has been chosen by the Lake County Divorce Judges to be a member of a committee planning a seminar for September 2012 for lawyers wishing to represent children in divorce cases. Gary will also be a speaker at the seminar.

Gary Schlesinger is speaking at the annual Lake County Bar Association family law seminar. the topic is direct and cross examination of a child custody evaluator.
Gary L. Schlesinger has been appointed to the Illinois State Bar Association committee on the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission for the 2012-13 year which starts July 1st. Gary was appointed by John Theis, incoming President of the Assn. Gary has been on this committee for about 15 years and he was committee chair for 2000-01.

Michael S. Strauss and Gary L. Schlesinger served as volunteer mediators in the Lake County Illinois Divorce Court in January 2012.
On September 1, 2010, the Law Office of Gary L. Schlesinger will become Schlesinger & Strauss, LLC. The new firm name also marks the elevation of Mike Strauss to the status of partner with Gary L. Schlesinger.
Mike Strauss joined the Law Office of Gary L. Schlesinger in March 2006, and has exclusively practiced family law since being admitted to the Illinois Bar. He has represented clients with family law cases in seven counties in the state of Illinois.
In 2007, Mike Strauss was certified to serve a child representative and guardian ad litem in custody and adoption cases in the 16th, 18th, and 19th judicial circuits in Illinois.
Gary Strauss was chosen by the incoming president of the Lake County Illinois Bar Association to be one of two co-editors of the monthly publication, The Docket. The appointment was for the year beginning July 1, 2009.
Beginning June 2010, Mike has been elected to the Illinois State Bar Association Assembly, the Legislative body of the organization, for a three-year term.
Gary Schlesinger opened his firm in Libertyville, Lake County, Illinois in 1986, devoting the practice exclusively to family law matters including divorce, alimony, custody, support, paternity, and adoption cases. He has handled cases in Cook and Lake Counties in the trial courts and the appellate court. Gary Schlesinger is a 25+year member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has served on its Admissions Committee, its Board of Directors, and as Vice President.
2010 also marks Gary Schlesinger’s fifth straight year of being chosen as a “Super Lawyer” for Family Law.
